First published in tankoubon (graphic novel) form in Japan by Crimson Comics in 2001, Diabolo is a harrowing tale of supernatural intrigue set in and around a modern-day Japanese high school.

Protagonists Ren and Rai fell prey to the Diabolo in an attempt to save the soul of Ren's cousin, 7-year-old Mio ... although they failed in their attempt, they were 'rewarded' with powers they would each gladly trade for the life of the young girl.

Just who - or what - is the Diabolo? What enticements does he offer the kids at school? And, if they accept his 'bargains,' what foul fate awaits them on their 18th birthdays?

I remember when Vol 3 came out... I had my mom rush out to buy it while I was at school. I danced around when I got home and she laughed... I had a drawing of Ren & Rai kissing up on my wall and my Bro's girlfriend said she wanted a pic like the one of the 'guy and girl kissing' up on my wall... I wonder which one she thought was a chick...

Well, I'm going to be typical here and announce my joining of the Diabolo Fan Club. At any rate, as soon as I get my scanner (er.. one of my scanners, for that matter... :O_o:) up and working, I'll submit my Diabolo fan art. I think the best 'drawings' I've done so far, however, would be on the pant-legs of the jeans of two of my friends, both pictures of Rai ('cos we all love 'im so much). Until then, I guess I'll just be an observer of everyone else's wonderful art.
